SEN Support

We are recruiting for candidates who are looking to expand their career within an SEN education setting. We offer a lot of roles which would be prefect for graduates who have studied psychology, youth and community, social studies or similar. By working in a school candidates can expect to gain valuable experience first hand, dealing with children of all ages and demographics, with different needs and abilities. Working in an alternative education provision can prepare you for building a valuable and rewarding career.

We work with a school in the Bury area which provides education to secondary age pupils who are currently excluded from mainstream schools due to their personal needs. This includes social and emotional needs such as depression or anxiety, and can exhibit challenging or aggressive behaviours.

Candidates applying for this role should be able to make quick and proactive decisions, keeping in mind the safety and security of the students at the school. Team-Teach training would be essential to de-escalate situations, and can be provided by Teaching Personnel if necessary.

You will also need to assist the children within the classroom with their education. The curriculum is designed to be engaging and entertaining to help the students to remain focused, however they will still need help not to become distracted! Being a source of motivation and creativity to them is important to help them remain interested in their education.
