This lovely community school are on the search for a full-time Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to work with a young boy with Challenging Behaviour, and has recently been diagnosed with Autism.

This Primary School is an inclusive school, exuding a warmth and generosity of spirit that comes from their children and diverse school community. The school is set within it's own Campus, which includes a state of-the-art learning environment for children and adults. With approximately 400 children, including an outstanding centre for children with Autism - the school provides an exceptional atmosphere for future teachers, Psychology graduates and SEN specialists.

In 2014 OFSTED judged both areas of provision as 'Good' in all categories. More recently, the school have been excited to enhance their offer of a new centre for two year old's, as well as the most recent completion of their STEM Lab.

This school in particular (one of our favourites!) is a UNICEF Rights Respecting School. Their culture revolves around 'Who do you want to be?' - preparing children with the qualities needed in life to be successful and happy. They have a strong focus on well-being, fitness and accessing the rights that they are all entitled to. This is on top of their high expectations for learning and skill development across all curriculum subjects. They are even holding culture tours to show off their ethos and to give prospective parents/carers an opportunity to see their school environment!

With this position in mind, your role will certainly be centred around the school's unique and innovative ethos. You will be spending allocated time within the classroom, but will also provide hours of 1:1 tuition and learning time in the classroom's intervention area. Whilst a particular focus will surround attainment levels with the child, your role is based on Nurturing and behaviour provision on a more social & emotional level - and will include working closely with the SENCO and the school's fabulous senior leadership group!

Here at Teaching Personnel, we are hear to act as your stepping stone to your new career change, so whether you're a recent graduate or an experienced teaching assistant who may not have worked with SEN before - we're open to all enquiries, and can even help you with our high quality in-house training:

WE OFFER CPD PROGRAMMES SUCH AS Understanding Autism, Team Teach and L2 Safeguarding (and so many more!) - Just take a look at our website.

To apply for this role, send your application through with a cover note and CV attached - looking forward to hearing from you!
