Behaviour youth work assistant job – Camberwell

Full-time position

We are looking for experienced behaviour teaching assistants to support in a therapeutic day special school based in Camberwell. This role will be working 1:1 with a challenging Year 7 pupil who has been in foster care placements previously and has emotional behavioural needs. This will be for an immediate start with the potential of a permanent contract after an extended probation person for the suitable candidate. The school have an ongoing  staff training programme which consists of Team training , Safeguarding of children and therapeutic  approaches.

Previous experience working with challenging behavioural needs is essential, anyone with previous experience from PRU setting, youth work, or sports coaching is ideal but applications will be considered from anyone with transferable skills from other sectors such as youth offending institutions, mental health facilities or residential care settings.

1:1 KS3 behaviour teaching assistant:

  • Able to deliver 1:1 support with behavioural needs
  • Confident , resilient personality
  • Training  and development provided including CPD training such as Team Teach training
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding and KCSIE.
  • Full time Monday to Friday 8.15am- 4pm
  • Potential for promotions and career development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
