SEN Science Teacher

We are seeking a qualified, enthusiastic and compassionate Science Teacher to work in one of our SEN Secondary schools in the Stockport area.  You will be planning and delivering lessons for pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, ADHD, high anxiety, emotional-based school avoidance, and difficulties with relationships and communication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging science lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Adapt content and teaching strategies to meet EHCP targets and individual learning profiles
• Create a safe, inclusive, and emotionally supportive classroom environment
• Build positive relationships with students and support their social and emotional development
• Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and school leadership
• Monitor progress and contribute to student reviews and reports
• Implement behaviour management and de-escalation strategies

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience working in SEN or inclusive settings (preferred but not essential)
• Strong subject knowledge in science and a flexible, creative approach to teaching
• A belief in inclusive learning and the ability to adapt lessons to meet diverse needs
• Excellent communication, behaviour management, and interpersonal skills
• Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting young people with complex needs
