SEN Science Teacher

We are seeking a qualified, enthusiastic and compassionate Science Teacher to work in one of our SEN Secondary schools in the Stockport area. You will be planning and delivering lessons for pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, ADHD, high anxiety, emotional-based school avoidance, and difficulties with relationships and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging science lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Adapt content and teaching strategies to meet EHCP targets and individual learning profiles
- Create a safe, inclusive, and emotionally supportive classroom environment
- Build positive relationships with students and support their social and emotional development
- Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and school leadership
- Monitor progress and contribute to student reviews and reports
- Implement behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working in SEN or inclusive settings (preferred but not essential)
- Strong subject knowledge in science and a flexible, creative approach to teaching
- A belief in inclusive learning and the ability to adapt lessons to meet diverse needs
- Excellent communication, behaviour management, and interpersonal skills
- Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting young people with complex needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
