Job description

Maths Teacher – Specialist Secondary Setting (ASC)

Location: Grateley, near Andover, Hampshire
Hours: Full Time – 40 hours per week

Are you a qualified Maths Teacher looking for a role where you can focus on teaching, build meaningful relationships with students, and make a lasting difference?

We're recruiting a Maths Teacher to join a specialist secondary school near Andover, supporting young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This is an excellent opportunity to join a welcoming and supportive school where small class sizes, personalised learning, and strong staff collaboration allow teachers to help every student reach their potential.

Whether you're an experienced teacher looking for a new challenge or seeking a move from mainstream education into a specialist setting, you'll be supported every step of the way.

The Role

You'll teach Maths to secondary-aged students up to GCSE level, delivering engaging lessons that are tailored to meet individual learning needs. With smaller classes and excellent classroom support, you'll have the time and opportunity to focus on high-quality teaching, build positive relationships, and help students develop confidence both academically and personally.

Working alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you'll play an important role in creating an environment where students feel understood, supported, and motivated to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons up to GCSE level

  • Differentiate learning to meet individual needs and learning styles

  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching where appropriate

  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom where every student can thrive

  • Support students' confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing alongside their academic development

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for students

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school community

About You

We're looking for a teacher who is passionate about Maths and committed to helping every student achieve their potential.

You will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching Maths at secondary level

  • Confidence teaching GCSE Maths

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • A patient, adaptable, and positive approach to teaching

Experience working within specialist education or with students with autism is welcomed but is not essential. If you're an outstanding teacher with a willingness to learn and an interest in SEND, the school will provide ongoing support and professional development to help you succeed.

What You'll Receive

  • A supportive and collaborative specialist school environment

  • Small class sizes that allow you to focus on high-quality teaching

  • Excellent classroom support from experienced Learning Support Assistants

  • Ongoing professional development and specialist SEND training

  • Opportunities to develop your career within specialist education

  • The chance to make a genuine and lasting difference to the lives of young people

If you're looking for a teaching role where you can spend more time inspiring students, less time managing large classes, and be part of a team that truly values inclusive education, we'd love to hear from you.

Please apply with your up-to-date CV, and a member of our team will be in touch.
