Learning Support Assistants – SEN | Full-Time | St Helens | September 2025 Start
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs (SEN)? Teaching Personnel is seeking multiple dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to work full-time in mainstream secondary schools across St Helens, starting in September 2025.

About the Role:
-
Support students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)

Work one-to-one or in small groups under the guidance of SENCOs and classroom teachers
-
Help promote inclusion, confidence and academic progress in a mainstream school setting
-
Full-time hours, Monday to Friday during school term time
Ideal Candidates May Have:
-
Previous experience in a similar role or with children/young people with SEN
-
Background in residential care, youth support, or social work
-
A degree in Psychology or related field
-
Aspirations to become a teacher and a desire to gain practical experience
-
A positive, patient and resilient attitude
Requirements:
-
Must hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service

Commitment to the full academic year starting September 2025

Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with students and staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
