SEN Inclusion Support Assistant - Patchway

Location: Patchway, Bristol
Hours: Full Time, Monday–Friday
Salary: £92.95 – £100.10 per day


About the Role

A supportive and inclusive primary school in BS34 is seeking a dedicated Inclusion Support Assistant to join their team on a full‑time basis starting ASAP. 

This role is perfect for someone passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing targeted interventions, and delivering high‑quality phonics support. The school is looking for someone who can nurture confidence, promote independence, and help ensure every child can access learning successfully.


What You’ll Be Doing

As an Inclusion Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with a range of SEN needs
  • Deliver phonics interventions (ideally using schemes such as Read Write)
  • Support children with communication, emotional regulation and engagement
  • Assist the class teacher with differentiated activities and classroom routines
  • Use tailored strategies to help pupils overcome learning barriers
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and structured learning environment
  • Build supportive relationships with pupils to boost confidence and self‑esteem
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking individuals who have:

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN, including communication or behavioural needs
  • Phonics experience (delivering interventions or supporting whole‑class phonics)
  • Patience, empathy, resilience and a calm, nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to adapt to pupil needs
  • The ability to remain positive and consistent in challenging moments
  • Reliability, enthusiasm and a passion for making a difference

(A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
