SEN Teaching Assistant required in Leeds

  • An understanding of the complexities related to Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • A positive, inclusive and holistic approach to behaviour and classroom management
  • Pay rates of up to £80 per day

Teaching Personnel are working with a Special Needs school in Leeds who are seeking a Teaching Assistant to work across the school. This specialist school is situated just outside of Leeds city centre, within walking distance of Burley Park train station, and offers education to young people between 3 and 19 years. The provision is for pupils who have severe learning difficulties and additional profound and complex physical / medical needs. The school has devoted and dedicated passionate Teachers and classroom support staff and work very closely with colleagues from the therapy and school nursing service. You must be a passionate individual with the commitment and motivation to support pupils with Special Educational Needs to reach their full potential in a specialist setting. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SENTA) it will be your role to support pupils with their learning and development both inside and outside of the classroom. You will assist with Speech and Language Therapy Programmes and encourage positive social interaction, provide support with learning activities - differentiating the curriculum to make learning accessible for all pupils, and you will be able to deliver and support with Personal Care.

You must be able to travel to Leeds by car or public transport. The school has excellent transport links from Leeds City Centre and the surrounding areas.
