Having experience within a school setting is a bonus, but not essential as if you have experience in social care or support work then these skills are transferrable. Your role as a teaching assistant will include working with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC/ASD), SEMH (Social Emotional and Mental Health) or MLD / SLD (Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties).
