SEN Teaching Assistant

SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary) – Level 3 qualified or above with 12 months school-based experience.

Would you like to work in a primary school in Formby to support in an SEN class?

We have the perfect opportunity for you!

A reputable primary school located in Formby are looking to appoint a Level 3 Teaching Assistant who is a specialist in providing SEN support to work within the SEN unit as a general class TA. The children in the class have a range of moderate learning difficulties and some social and emotional difficulties. This can also come with some challenging behaviour. The successful candidate will provide full-time support to the children to enable them to access and engage appropriately with mainstream school life.

The school has excellent, engaging facilities and resources. Staff at this school describe working there to be fun and rewarding. The Teachers in the SEN unit have been at the school for at least 5 years each. The vacancy has come about due to retirement.

To be successful in your application, you must have at least 12 months prior experience in a similar role; this can either be in a mainstream primary or secondary school, a specialist provision or as a Support Worker or Carer.

  • October 2023 start.
  • Level 3 qualification or above required, along with 12 months prior experience.
  • Hourly Rate: £11.85-12.50.

SEN Teaching Assistant role

  • 5 days per week, working within an SEN class with MLD, SEMH difficulties and some challenging behaviour.
  • Learning from the school SENCo and fellow SEN Teaching Assistants, with use of your own prior experience.
  • Working closely with parents to ensure cohesion between school and home.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
