Birmingham

Are you passionate about making a real difference in a child’s life?

We’re looking for a warm, dedicated, and enthusiastic  SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to support a child with ADHD, ASD, and social, emotional, and behavioural needs, helping them thrive both academically and personally.

In this role, you won’t just be supporting learning — you’ll be building confidence, encouraging independence, and creating a safe, nurturing environment where a child can truly flourish.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to help a student access learning and grow in confidence
  • Deliver engaging, personalised activities that reflect the student’s interests and abilities
  • Support emotional regulation and communication, helping the student feel understood and secure
  • Use positive behaviour strategies to encourage independence and celebrate progress
  • Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and specialists to implement effective support plans
  • Track and share progress in line with EHCP targets and personal goals
  • Help create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued

About You

  • Naturally nurturing and calm, with a supportive and empathetic approach
  • Energetic and positive, bringing enthusiasm into the classroom every day
  • Adaptable and intuitive, able to respond to changing needs with confidence
  • A strong communicator, able to build trust with students, staff, and families
  • Eager to learn, open to training and new strategies
  • Experience with SEN (ADHD, ASD, behavioural needs) or a genuine passion to support children in this area

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
