SEN Class Teacher – All-Through Special Needs School
Location: New Forest
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
A well-respected all-through special needs school in the New Forest is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Class Teacher to lead a class of children with a range of additional needs. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a significant impact in a nurturing and inclusive educational setting spanning primary and secondary age groups.
The school supports children with diverse special educational needs, including physical disabilities, learning difficulties, and communication challenges. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating personalised learning programmes that enable pupils to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:

Leading a class of children with special educational needs across primary and secondary age ranges

Developing and implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and personalised learning strategies
-
Differentiating teaching to meet the varied needs of pupils
-
Promoting social, emotional, and academic development within a positive learning environment

Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and support staff
-
Engaging with parents and carers to support pupils’ progress and wellbeing
Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
-
Experience working with children with special educational needs
-
Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies and statutory frameworks
-
Patience, empathy, and excellent communication and leadership skills
-
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to whole-school development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
