SEN Class Teacher

Location: Corby, Northamptonshire

Contract: Full-time

Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)

About the School

We are supporting a specialist school in Corby providing high-quality education for children and young people aged 4 to 18, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Our pupils present with a wide range of complex needs, and the majority have a combination of special educational needs, including learning difficulties, communication needs, autism, and social, emotional and mental health needs.

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Class Teacher to join our supportive and skilled team. The successful candidate will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated learning that meets the individual needs of pupils, working closely with therapists, support staff, families, and external professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, teach and assess high-quality lessons tailored to pupils with complex needs

  • Deliver personalised learning programmes aligned with EHCP outcomes

  • Create a safe, structured and motivating learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and multidisciplinary teams

  • Monitor progress and contribute to reviews, reports and annual EHCP meetings

  • Promote pupils’ independence, communication, wellbeing and life skills

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience of working with children or young people with SEN (mainstream or specialist)

  • A strong understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning approaches

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • A calm, patient and flexible approach

  • A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
