An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate, resilient and committed teacher to join a newly established Key Stage 3 class within a highly regarded specialist provision located near Andover, Hampshire. This is a full-time position, commencing in January 2026.

Set in a peaceful, rural location surrounded by Hampshire countryside, the school provides a calm and spacious learning environment that supports the emotional regulation and wellbeing of pupils. The site is well-resourced and purposefully designed to meet the needs of young people with a range of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, alongside additional diagnoses such as autism spectrum condition (ASC), ADHD and associated learning difficulties.

About the Provision:

This new KS3 class is part of a broader specialist school community and has been created to meet the needs of learners who are in Key Stage 3 by age but are working at an upper primary level academically. The curriculum is carefully tailored to provide an appropriate level of challenge while also offering high levels of support, structure and consistency.

Class sizes are small, typically with no more than 6–8 pupils, supported by experienced teaching assistants and therapeutic staff. The school has a strong multidisciplinary ethos, with in-house therapy teams and pastoral staff working closely with teaching colleagues to ensure a holistic and joined-up approach to learning and development.

The Role:

• Lead a small KS3 class, delivering a broad and balanced curriculum adapted to meet individual learning needs

• Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that build on upper primary knowledge and skills

• Create a positive and structured classroom environment with clear routines, visual supports and emotional regulation strategies

• Work closely with specialist support staff to ensure effective differentiation and targeted interventions

• Contribute to the assessment, planning and review of pupils' EHCP outcomes

• Liaise with families and external professionals to ensure consistent and collaborative support

• Play an active role in shaping this new provision and contributing to its development within the wider school setting

Candidate Profile:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – applicants from both primary and secondary backgrounds are encouraged

• Experience of working with children or young people with SEN/SEMH needs (desirable, though not essential – training is provided)

• A calm, consistent and reflective approach to teaching and behaviour support

• Confident in adapting teaching to meet diverse needs within the classroom

• Willing to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

• Open to working full time, 8:30am to 5:00pm, in line with the school’s extended day model
