SEN Teaching Assistant - Personal Carer Required

  • GBP57 - GBP65 daily pay rate.
  • ASAP start or January 2020.

Teaching Personnel is currently looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a special school in Warmley. The successful candidate will join the school as soon as possible or from January 2020.

This school is an all through special school which caters for students aged between 3-19 with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple difficulties, and those on the Autistic Spectrum.

This school caters for students with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder), complex needs and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties). The majority of students are non-verbal and with such a wide range of learning difficulties, and students are supported by a multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists and speech and language therapists.

Many students communicate non-verbally, so being able to use PECs and Makaton will be ideal. Some students have challenging behaviour and you will be ideally Team Teach trained (although this is not a requirement).

Personal Care (feeding and toileting) is required and you will assess individual learning needs and work on a group basis.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience either working with children or providing personal care - No classroom experience is necessary
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service - Teaching Personnel can help you apply for this if required!

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
