TP Tutors are seeking a SEMH tutor, to work with an individual pupil who requires alternative education, beginning online but with the hopes of moving face to face, so ideally the successful tutor is able to do both.

Due to the needs of the pupil the successful tutor must have strong experience of working with SEMH students, students with behavioural needs and knowledge of the national curriculum, as multiple subjects will be covered. 

Rate of pay will be between £25 and £30 per hour, depending on experience.  

Main purpose of the job:

  • To work with pupils within an alternative provision setting
  • Play a vital role in supporting students with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential
  • Provide one-to-one online tuition with the hopes of moving to in person tuition
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting students' social, emotional, and mental well-being.
  • Support students in managing their behaviour, implementing strategies and techniques to de-escalate challenging situations.
  • Help students develop independent learning skills and foster their self-confidence.

Requirements:

  • UK recognised QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is preferred.
  • Valid DBS (A Child Workforce certificate that is accessible through the Update Service) or willingness to obtain one.
  • Eligible to work in the UK (right to work in the UK documentation).
  • A strong background in SEMH and Alternative Provision education
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students effectively.
  • Enthusiasm for education and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on young learners.
  • The ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
