Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work within an Alternative Provision, based in Colchester. We are looking for people that are flexible and can work on a day to day basis as well as people that would like long term work.
SEMH Teaching Assistant – Responsibilities
- To encourage pupils to join in with all activities and to take a full and active part in school life.
- To prepare, modify and adapt resources and learning materials for the pupil as agreed with the class teacher and other professionals.
- To encourage the pupil to develop a positive self image, and to develop confidence in their abilities and communication with others.
- To work on own initiative and manage situations with children with challenging behaviours including verbal and physical aggression
SEN Teaching Assistant – Requirements
You must have had solid experience working with children and/or young people with behavioural difficulties. It is preferred for this school for teaching assistant to be Team-Teach qualified or have similar Positive Behaviour Reinforcement training. This however is not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
