Teaching Personnel is recruiting a compassionate and skilled SEMH Teaching Assistant to support learners in a Secondary SEMH provision in Salford.
Role Overview:
-
Provide tailored, one-to-one and small group support for students with social, emotional, and mental health needs
-
Assist with behaviour management and support positive pupil engagement
-
Help deliver personalised learning activities and support access to the curriculum
-
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and behaviour teams to implement individual education and behaviour plans
-
Support students’ emotional wellbeing and development of social skills
-
Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment
Candidate Requirements:
-
Experience supporting young people with SEMH needs in education or alternative provision
-
Strong understanding of behaviour management and SEMH strategies
-
Patient, empathetic, and calm under pressure
-
Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families
-
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection best practices
-
Effective communication and teamwork skills
