SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are recruiting for a teaching assistant to work with pupils who have been excluded from mainstream school. This is a challenging position that will require a resilient personality, however we will support you on your journey as a teaching assistant and aid you in your professional development with CPD and training to help you develop your career. This is a full time position supporting secondary aged pupils supporting within our pupil referral unit in the Swanwick area of Hampshire. 

Training includes:

• Safeguarding
• Team Teach - behaviour management
• Prevent Duty 

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting pupils to develop and improve their behaviour within the classroom
• Aiding pupils to access the curriculum and education
• Find strengths of pupils and help them develop these areas

We are looking for someone who:

• Has some child care experience in any capacity - e.g schools, sports activities, care OR
• Has experience supporting challenging adults in any capacity e.g care, prison, police 
• If you have a relevant qualification this would be advantageous
• Bubbly and upbeat personality
• Resilient
