A Secondary School in North Leeds are seeking a Team Teach trained Behaviour Support Worker to start in the new term on a long term basis to work closely with a new pupil.

The role will involve working closely a pupil with SEMH who often displays very challenging behaviour.You will be liaising with class teachers, parents/guardians and in some cases social workers and SENCOs so you must have excellent communication skills as well as the ability to deescalate challenging situations.

The role is demanding and also extremely rewarding. You must have the ability to build rapport quickly with young people so previous experience where you have displayed this is essential. Previous experience of working in a behaviour support role with Secondary-aged pupils is desirable but not essential, other related experience may include Youth Work, Social Work, Sports Leaders, Ex-Military etc. As you will also be supporting within lessons you must have at least grade GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).

The school is in North Leeds but has good transport links so would be commutable from Leeds, Bradford and Harrogate areas.

The school require that you are Team Teach trained for this role, however if you do not currently hold this qualification there is the opportunity to take the course through Teaching Personnel at a heavily subsidised rate.

This particular role is full time, however if you are seeking part-time/flexible work we do have a number of similar positions available on a supply basis.
