Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Garstang (PR3) this September. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a specialist environment, helping students overcome barriers to learning and thrive both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs

• Assist with the implementation of individual education and behaviour plans

• Build positive and trusting relationships with students

• Support the class teacher in delivering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

• Promote emotional regulation and resilience strategies

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, SEN, or challenging behaviour

• A calm, empathetic, and consistent approach

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• A passion for helping pupils succeed and build confidence

• An understanding of trauma-informed practice (desirable)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
