Teaching Assistant
Job description
A welcoming mainstream primary school in Darwen is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant for the summer term. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting pupils across different stages of learning and thrives in a nurturing, community-focused school environment.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support learning, provide targeted intervention, and help create a positive, well-structured classroom environment. The role involves a blend of whole-class support, small‑group work, and occasional 1:1 assistance depending on pupil needs.
Key responsibilities include:

Supporting pupils’ learning across a range of subjects and year groups.

Delivering small‑group activities to reinforce key skills and boost progress.

Assisting with classroom preparation, organisation, and resource management.

Helping to implement behaviour expectations and promote positive routines.

Providing additional support to pupils who may need extra guidance or reassurance.

Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
