Job description

Teaching Assistants – SEMH Secondary School (Bournemouth)
Start Dates: Immediate & January

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a specialist SEMH secondary school in Bournemouth who are seeking full-time Teaching Assistants to join their team. The school supports pupils aged 11–16 with SEMH needs, Autism, complex needs, and all students have EHCPs in place.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting vulnerable young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support

  • Assisting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management

  • Supporting teaching staff in delivering tailored education plans

  • Building strong, positive relationships with pupils

  • Helping create a safe and engaging learning environment

You Will Need:

  • A calm, resilient and patient approach

  • A genuine desire to support young people with additional needs

  • Experience in SEN or care settings is beneficial but not essential

  • Full-time availability

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
