SEMH Teaching Assistant – Blandford Forum

Start: September 2025 (Early Start Available – Full or Part-Time)

We are looking for dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to work full-time (or part-time) in specialist settings across Blandford Forum, supporting students aged 3 to 19 who face social, emotional, and mental health barriers to learning.

Whether you're in a small therapeutic provision, a nurturing alternative setting, or working with learners with more complex emotional or behavioural needs, you’ll be part of a team that values patience, resilience, and meaningful relationships.

Your Role Will Involve:

• Supporting students with SEMH needs across primary and secondary levels

• Promoting emotional regulation, resilience, and social skills

• Encouraging engagement through calm, consistent support

• Working closely with teaching and pastoral teams

• Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and structured environment

We’re Looking For:

• Experience in SEMH, youth work, SEN, or care roles (preferred but not essential)

• A calm, consistent, and compassionate approach

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• A commitment to helping every child succeed, no matter the barrier

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
