SEMH Teaching Assistant – Full Time

Location: Bolton, Greater Manchester 
Contract: Full time, Monday to Friday, long-term

We are currently recruiting for a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to support within a specialist provision in the Bolton area. This is a long-term opportunity starting after the Easter break, working with pupils who require additional support due to SEMH needs, Autism and learning difficulties.

The school is looking for someone who can provide consistency and structure, and who is confident working with pupils who may present with challenging behaviour or disengagement from learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs
  • Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering structured lessons
  • Encouraging engagement and participation from pupils
  • Supporting pupils during transitions, break times and interventions

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with SEN, SEMH or behavioural needs
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • The ability to build strong relationships with pupils
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Availability to work full time

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
