SEMH Teaching Assistant - Doncaster
Teaching Personnel are currently working with a number of Social emotional and mental health schools within the Doncaster area which are looking for support assistants with strong behaviour management skills to work on a temporary basis with potential opportunities of becoming a permanent role.
Pupils with Behavioural difficulties can be very challenging to support, however if you have the ability to be a positive role model and understand the behaviour patterns with pupils you will be working with, then why not get involved and make a difference in supporting them through their education. It is important you are passionate in wanting to work in a challenging environment as this is one of the most rewarding careers out there!
For this SEMH support assistant role, you will have:
- Experience supporting pupils with behavioural issues, challenging behaviour in a pupil referral unit or similar setting. Have experience supporting pupils in KS3 and KS4.
- Be a positive role model influence. Have the ability to be patient and fully understand the pupil or pupils you are supporting in order to keep them on task and to complete activates set.
- Have strong behaviour management skills, while also balancing a nurturing approach.
- Observe pupils progress and report any issues or developments to the teacher.
- Be committed and resilient, while staying calm at all times in challenging situations.
- Team teach or equivalent restraint techniques is an advantage, but not essential.
