SEN & SEMH Teacher – Leeds (Specialist Provisions)

Daily Rate: £160–£210/day | Full-Time | Short-Term, Long-Term & Temp-to-Perm

We are working with several alternative provisions and inclusive learning centres in Leeds who are looking for confident, creative, and resilient SEN Teachers to join their teams.

This is an exciting role for teachers who enjoy working in smaller class settings with pupils who may have behavioural challenges, SEMH needs, or require a therapeutic approach to learning.

The Role:

  • Teach a small class group with a focus on core subjects and social skills development.

  • Use restorative approaches and positive behaviour management strategies.

  • Build strong relationships with pupils and act as a consistent, positive role model.

  • Collaborate with support staff to provide individualised interventions.

  • Contribute to EHCP reviews and write reports to track pupil progress.

  • Create a nurturing and safe space that encourages attendance and engagement.

We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS).

  • Previous experience with SEMH, alternative provision, or PRU settings desirable.

  • Confidence with behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.

  • A patient, empathetic approach and ability to build trust with vulnerable pupils.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (child/adult DBS highly desirable).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
