An independent school in Manchester is looking for a teacher to start as soon as possible to support 11–16-year-olds with additional needs. The school works with students who have a history of disrupted educational experiences and are unable to attend mainstream school currently.

You will work alongside other staff, carers and the students to provide good outcomes for each student in an effective and positive way.

Due to the size of the school and classes, you will be expected to teach multiple subjects and be able to plan fun and creative activities for lessons surrounding these for mixed age groups. 

Skills desired:

  • PGCE or extensive teaching experience
  • Experience working with young people with social, emotional, educational and behavioural needs
  • Experience teaching multiple subjects at a secondary level
  • Excellent understanding of safeguarding procedures

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver lessons that suit individual needs and support positive outcomes
  • Work as a team with staff, carers and students to provide the best overall education for the students
  • Responsible for support staff within the classroom
  • Work with pupils with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
