SEMH Secondary Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Greater Manchester – Bury
Pay: £90–£100 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time | Long-term (Temp-to-Perm available)

We are currently recruiting for a resilient and proactive SEMH Behaviour Support Assistant to join a supportive secondary school setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and help them re-engage with education.

The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH and behavioural needs
  • Implement behaviour support plans and de-escalation strategies
  • Support emotional regulation and positive coping strategies
  • Work closely with teaching staff, SENCO and pastoral teams
  • Encourage engagement in learning and promote independence
  • Support students both in mainstream lessons and alternative provision spaces

We Are Looking For:

  • Experience working with young people with SEMH, EBD, ADHD or challenging behaviour
  • Backgrounds in education, youth work, support work, care, sports coaching or mentoring
  • Calm, confident and consistent approach to behaviour management
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Passion for supporting vulnerable young people to succeed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
