Pay: £90 – £100 per day

Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Advanced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support students with a range of additional learning needs. You’ll be joining a committed team at a welcoming school in Northumberland where inclusion and pupil progress are at the heart of everything we do.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
  • Deliver targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy, communication, and social development
  • Assist with planning and adapting classroom activities to ensure full participation
  • Monitor pupil progress and behaviour, reporting back to teaching staff and parents/carers
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and support services to meet EHCP targets
  • Support pupils through transitions within school and to new settings
  • Help create inclusive resources and contribute to a supportive learning environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional learning needs (preferably in a school setting)
  • A relevant Level 3 qualification or above (e.g. Supporting Teaching and Learning, Child Development)
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • A calm, patient, and positive approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices

Requirements

  • Level 3 qualification or higher in a relevant field
  • Previous experience in a UK school (preferred)
  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
