SEMH Learning Support Assistant
Job description
We are currently looking for Learning Support Assistants for a special school dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for students aged 10 to 16 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Located in the Surrey countryside, the school focus on a therapeutic approach to learning that supports the holistic development of each child.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join the team. You will work closely with students to support their educational, social, and emotional development. Under the guidance of the SENCo and teaching staff, you will help overcome barriers to learning and assist students in reaching their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs.

Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.

Encourage student engagement and participation in classroom activities.

Collaborate with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored support.

Help develop a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Ideal Candidate:
The successful candidate will have:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
