Are you a resilient and compassionate English teacher looking to make a real impact?

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and confident English Teacher to join one of our SEMH Secondary Schools. You will be playing an integral part in providing students with an excellent education and work towards their qualifications. These pupils face a range of challenges including behavioural difficulties and mental health needs, and require a teacher who can offer stability, patience, and adaptability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging English lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies
  • Use de-escalation techniques to maintain a calm learning environment
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Adapt teaching to meet EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) requirements
  • Collaborate with support staff and external agencies
  • Maintain safeguarding standards and promote student welfare

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Enhanced DBS check (Child and Adult Workforce) – on the update service or willing to apply
  • Recent references covering the last 2 years
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training (provided by us)
  • Experience working with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs is highly desirable
  • Calm, patient, and confident approach to teaching
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
