Secondary Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive educational setting in Wareham. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, primarily supporting secondary-aged pupils, with opportunities to work across the wider age range of 4 to 16. The setting is known for its inclusive ethos, strong pastoral support and commitment to helping every pupil reach their potential.

Working hours are 8.45am to 3.30pm.

Your Role

• Support secondary-aged pupils with learning and classroom activities

• Provide one-to-one and small group assistance

• Encourage engagement, independence and confidence

• Help maintain a calm, safe and structured learning environment

• Work closely with teachers and support staff

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 6 months of childcare experience, particularly supporting children with SEN needs

• Patient, resilient and adaptable approach

• Commitment to full-time work

• Understanding of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
