Secondary Teaching Assistant – New Milton
Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs in a secondary school environment?
Teaching Personnel is looking for a dedicated and empathetic Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in New Milton this September.
This is a part-time position ideal for someone looking to make a difference in the lives of pupils while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
The Role:
You will be supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4, many of whom have Special Educational Needs (SEN) such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) challenges. Your role will involve working 1:1 and in small groups, helping pupils access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities:

Providing classroom support to pupils with a range of SEN

Supporting learning activities tailored to individual needs
-
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

Assisting with classroom management and lesson delivery

Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff

Experience working with young people (education or care backgrounds welcome)

A calm, patient and supportive approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills
-
Willingness to undertake safeguarding and SEN-specific training

A genuine interest in helping students overcome barriers to learning

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
