Teaching Personnel is looking for a dedicated and empathetic Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in New Milton this September.

This is a part-time position ideal for someone looking to make a difference in the lives of pupils while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

The Role:

You will be supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4, many of whom have Special Educational Needs (SEN) such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) challenges. Your role will involve working 1:1 and in small groups, helping pupils access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing classroom support to pupils with a range of SEN

• Supporting learning activities tailored to individual needs

• Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

• Assisting with classroom management and lesson delivery

• Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with young people (education or care backgrounds welcome)

• A calm, patient and supportive approach

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Willingness to undertake safeguarding and SEN-specific training

• A genuine interest in helping students overcome barriers to learning
