Job description

We’re Hiring: Secondary Teaching Assistants in Bristol

Start Date: September 2025

Full-Time | Part-Time | Permanent | Flexible

The Role:

  • Support the teaching and learning of students across KS3–KS4 in a range of subjects

  • Assist in the delivery of lessons, working with individuals and small groups

  • Help create an inclusive, encouraging classroom environment where every learner feels valued

  • Support pupils’ academic, emotional, and social development

  • Aid in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive engagement

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to meet pupil needs

  • Experienced teaching assistants seeking a new opportunity

  • Graduates considering a future in teaching or education

  • Individuals with experience supporting young people, including in youth work or care roles

  • Those with tutoring/coaching experience, eg. Music, Sport, Creative Arts, Maths, Languages etc
  • Those looking for part-time, flexible, or supply work in schools


What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with secondary-aged children or young people

  • A calm, adaptable approach and strong communication skills

  • Ability to support students with varied learning needs, including SEN

  • Team player who thrives in a school environment

  • Valid Enhanced Child-Only DBS or willingness to apply for one

  • A passion for supporting young people and helping them succeed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
