Teaching Personnel are seeking special needs teaching assistants for SEN schools and PRU's in Oxfordshire. The schools cater for students with autism, complex learning needs, ADHD and challenging behaviour. 

Candidates from creative backgrounds such as dance, art, music, and sport would be great for this position.

About the school:

The school support young people to develop their emotional wellbeing and social skills. As a special need teaching assistant, you will support the school to develop students to cope with the things they find challenging. The successful teaching assistant will help establish positive and healthy relationships, emotional wellbeing and developing social skills. You will be based in the classroom on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis with pupils. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who would like a change in career or if you have a keen interest in special needs.

Experience is preferred but not necessary. If you have transferable skills, then this could be the job for you!

As a Learning support assistant, you will be:

  • A can-do attitude
  • Work with pupils 1:1 and in groups
  • Plan and support children with autism and help them reach their potential.
  • Actively plan and join in play and youth activities including swimming, ball games, messy play, and music
  • Be prepared to communicate differently with a wide range of people.
  • Adhere to all safeguarding and behaviour policies.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
