SEN Teaching Assistants
Start Date: 1st September 2026
Location: Wirral
Pay: £95 – £100 per day

Teaching Personnel’s Wirral branch are proud to be supporting a long-standing partner secondary school in the local area to recruit dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants for permanent roles starting in September 2026.

The Role
You will be working closely with Year 7 students transitioning into secondary school, providing tailored support for pupils with:
- Moderate SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)
- Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
Your role will involve:
- Delivering 1:1 and small group support
- Assisting with academic engagement and emotional regulation
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff
- Helping pupils build confidence and independence in their learning journey
- Supporting a smooth transition from primary to secondary education
Ideal Candidate
We are keen to hear from individuals who are passionate about making a difference in education. The school is particularly interested in:
- Graduate applicants, especially those pursuing a career in education
- Candidates with a Psychology degree (highly desirable)
- Individuals with previous secondary Teaching Assistant experience
- Strong communicators with a patient, empathetic and proactive approach
- Those with a genuine interest in SEN and safeguarding pupil wellbeing
