I am currently working closely with an SEN school in the North West Kent location that are looking for two Teaching Assistants permanent roles starting in as soon as possible. An SEMH/ASC school, the school boasts extensive grounds with excellent facilities.
Ideal candidates will have had experience working with challenging behaviour/supporting young people on a 1:1. The school supports pupils from key stage 2, 3, 4 and 5. You will be working on a 1:1 to basis but may also be required to cover in class when needed. Classes are small with approximately 5 to 7 pupils including. In addition to classroom support you may also be required to work off site at colleges across North West Kent across a wide variety of subjects.
Due to the nature of the school lots of the students are from a care background and need someone who is going to show a lot of enthusiasm and be willing to get involved as part of a team. In addition to this you will be covering across all key stages and will need to have the flexible and adaptable working ethos required to support all year groups.
If you have experience or feel confident in at least 2 of the following please get in touch:
- Youth Offending Services
- Criminology, Psychology, Music Degree
- Sports coaching qualification or background
- Team Teach/SKIP, CPI, MAPA Physical Intervention Training
- Experience supporting challenging behaviour within an out of school setting
- Emotionally Robust
Trial days for these roles will be taking place during the second week in September. Please send in your CV along with a cover letter to register interest for this position. All candidates will be subject to the necessary vetting/background checks.
Relevant qualifications and experience will be highly beneficial, yet it will be your ability to build relationships and increase pupils attainment and sense of worth that will make you a success. Due to the rural location along with the possibility of supporting pupils offsite own transport is essential.
