Teaching Personnel, the UK's leading education recruitment agency, is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a dynamic and innovative school community. The position is scheduled to commence in September, offering a rewarding career path within a supportive and inclusive environment. This position will begin as a temporary termly contract but has great scope to be extended to a permanent role for the right applicant. 

Position: Science Teacher Start Date: September Location: Plymouth, UK

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging and interactive lessons in Science, catering to students with diverse abilities and learning styles.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and promotes a passion for scientific inquiry.
  • Utilize a wide range of teaching strategies, resources, and technology to enhance student understanding and enthusiasm for scientific concepts.
  • Plan and conduct practical experiments, demonstrations, and investigations, ensuring a safe and controlled laboratory environment.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to facilitate academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum plans, schemes of work, and assessment strategies.
  • Attend departmental meetings, contribute to curriculum development, and participate in extracurricular activities as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science with QTS
  • Proven experience teaching Science at the secondary school level, within the UK curriculum.
  • A comprehensive understanding of scientific principles and concepts across various disciplines (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Excellent classroom management skills, creating a conducive learning environment where students feel motivated and supported.
  • A growth mindset, committed to continuous professional development and staying abreast of the latest developments in Science education.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team and actively contribute to the wider school community.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
