Secondary School Personal Care Assistant

A fantastic teaching assistant opportunity has arisen in a new school in Rhondda Cynon Taf. As part of a faculty working under new leadership, you will be expected to help implement the new policies and positive change   already making noticeable differences within the school.

• GBP60-75 per day

• Initial temporary contract (3 months probation window) with opportunity to go permanent next term  based on your performance

• Immediate start date

• Full time school hours

• ALN support, with personal care experience highly desirable

A recent ESTYN inspection has commented on the need for an improvement towards behavioural ethos and pupil engagement. Subsequent reports have commended the staff on their commitment to turning this around and already the learning atmosphere in the school has become incredibly positive.

As a highly driven teaching assistant wanting to help each student achieve their very best, you will also be working with pupils with challenging behaviour on a one to one basis. Specifically, you will be required to support the teacher maintain a strong learning environment for all students.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Will be confident dealing with challenging behaviours that stem from home-life issues and learning difficulties

• Have experience working with children, 11-16 year olds preferable but other age groups will also be considered.

• Will be able to help influence classroom behaviour.

• Will be punctual, professional and adaptable in difficult situations.

• Will have a strong knowledge of safeguarding.

THE SCHOOL

• CF40 Postcode – candidates must drive or be able to get here by 8:20 every morning.

• High percentage of free school meals.

• Low number of pupils achieving A*-C grade in core subjects at GCSE level.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
