Job description

Teaching Personnel Lincolnshire are looking for Instructors or “unqualified teachers” for Supply cover in our local Secondary schools. We work to support local Secondary and FE provisions with their staffing, therefore we require Instructors to help schools cover their absences.

The role of an Instructor

  • Cover your specialist subject at a local Secondary School
  • Leading whole classes whilst the permanent member of staff is absent
  • Dealing with challenging behaviour in the classroom
  • Making sure all students are focused and on track to meeting the lesson objectives
  • Prepare the classroom for lessons
  • Help any students who are struggling with the work set for their cover lessons
  • Assist teachers in planning lessons
  • Possibly teach up to KS4, utilising your subject knowledge and experience

In order for us to be able to offer you work, we will need to ensure you have passed our vetting checks which include a DBS and valid references.

  • Have experience working with children or young adults
  • Have leadership skills and experience
  • Be able to build excellent rapport with students and staff
  • Be flexible in your approach to work and work well on your initiative
  • Have a genuine interest in working within the education sector
  • Ideally have experience working or volunteering within education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
