Supply Secondary History Teacher – Brighton Area

Are you a qualified and passionate History teacher seeking flexible, rewarding work? Do you have the ability to inspire, engage, and support secondary students in their learning journey? Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a Secondary Qualified History Teacher to join a vibrant and inclusive school in the Brighton and Hove area on a supply basis.

About the Role:

We are working in partnership with a forward-thinking secondary school that is committed to high standards of teaching and learning. As a supply History teacher, you will deliver high-quality, pre-planned History lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting their academic progress in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator who enjoys the flexibility of supply teaching while maintaining the high expectations and professionalism of a subject specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured History lessons to students aged 11–16
  • Adapt to different classroom environments while maintaining continuity of learning
  • Uphold high expectations for student behaviour and achievement
  • Assess student understanding and provide feedback where appropriate
  • Work collaboratively with school staff to support students’ learning and wellbeing

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in History
  • Recent experience teaching History at secondary level (KS3/KS4)
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • The ability to quickly build rapport with students and staff
  • A flexible, positive approach and a passion for education
  • Child only DBS (or willing to apply)

Pay: Competitive

Hours: 8:30am – 15:30pm

Location: Brighton

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
