Cover Supervisor – Lewis Road, Kettering

Supply Bank is working closely with a Secondary Mainstream school on Lewis Road, Kettering, seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to support the school when teachers are absent and help ensure the school day runs smoothly.

This hands-on classroom role is ideal for individuals considering a future in teaching, returning to education, or looking to gain valuable experience within a secondary school setting without the full responsibilities of lesson planning and marking.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will lead classrooms using pre-prepared lesson materials, meaning no lesson planning is required. Your focus will be on maintaining a calm and structured learning environment where students remain engaged and learning continues effectively.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supervising lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Delivering pre-set lesson materials and ensuring learning objectives are met
  • Following the school's behaviour policy to maintain a positive and productive classroom environment
  • Supporting students with their classwork, including those with additional learning needs
  • Ensuring lessons run smoothly while encouraging student engagement and participation

What We're Looking For

  • Right to work in the UK (e.g. British passport or BRP with a valid share code)
  • An Overseas Police Check if you have lived abroad
  • Experience working with young people through schools, youth work, sports coaching, tutoring, mentoring, or similar settings
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • A calm, professional, and adaptable approach in a busy school environment

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Training or qualifications in education, childcare, youth work, or a related field
  • Previous experience working within a secondary school environment
