Cover Supervisor
Location: Macclesfield | Full-Time or Part-Time

We are recruiting on behalf of a respected secondary school in the Macclesfield area, part of a well-established multi-academy trust, for the role of Cover Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity to support students’ learning, gain valuable classroom experience, and become part of a collaborative educational community.

We’re seeking experienced Cover Supervisors, qualified teachers, and graduates who are considering a career in education. Whether you’re looking to build on your existing experience or explore a pathway into teaching, this role provides the chance to develop your skills in a supportive and forward-thinking school environment.

The Role

  • Supervise lessons across a variety of subjects using pre-prepared materials

  • Keep students focused, engaged, and on task in the absence of the regular teacher

  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, following school policies

  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and conduct

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to maintain a positive learning environment

  • Gain valuable experience and make a genuine impact on students’ education

  • PGCE or teacher training applicants

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people (essential)

  • A degree or strong academic background

  • Confidence in leading and managing a classroom

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A proactive, positive, and team-focused approach

  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
