This is a full-time, permanent role and a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Science specialist to develop leadership experience and make a meaningful impact on students’ learning.

We’re looking for a dynamic Science Teacher (any subject specialism – Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) with a track record of excellent classroom practice and a drive to inspire young minds. As Second in Science, you’ll support the Head of Department in raising achievement and driving forward high standards across Key Stages 3 and 4.
This is the ideal position for a teacher looking to step into middle leadership or to expand their existing leadership portfolio in a collaborative, high-support environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Support departmental planning, assessment, and curriculum development
- Contribute to whole-school teaching and learning initiatives
- Lead and mentor colleagues, including ECTs and trainee teachers
- Promote and deliver high-quality Science teaching across KS3 and KS4
- Play an active role in extra-curricular Science activities and trips
What we’re looking for:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
- Proven experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4
- A passion for subject leadership and curriculum innovation
- Strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills
- Ambition to take on responsibility and drive outcomes forward
