Science Technician – SEN School | Carshalton
Full-Time Role | September Start

Recruiting via Teaching Personnel

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Carshalton to recruit a dedicated and organised Science Technician for a full-time role starting in September.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for Science and education to support the delivery of engaging practical lessons within a specialist setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing resources, maintaining equipment, and supporting staff to ensure students have access to high-quality learning experiences.


About the Role

  • Preparing and setting up equipment and materials for Science lessons
  • Supporting practical activities across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
  • Maintaining, cleaning, and storing laboratory equipment safely
  • Monitoring stock levels and ordering resources when required
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Supporting teachers with lesson preparation and practical demonstrations
  • Assisting with risk assessments and maintaining laboratory records
  • Working closely with teaching staff to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Contributing to a safe, organised, and engaging learning environment

Essential Requirements – Please Read Carefully

✔️ Previous experience as a Science Technician or within a laboratory/science-based environment

✔️ Good knowledge of laboratory health and safety procedures

✔️ Strong organisational and practical skills

✔️ Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

✔️ An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, supporting students with SEN

✔️ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

✔️ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
