Science Teacher - Leigh

Full-time Science teacher required in January 2019 for a small mixed comprehensive Secondary school located in Leigh.

The school wish to appoint a forward thinking Science teacher that is able to create enthusiasm amongst their students whilst obtaining excellent results at GCSE level.

  • Full-time Science teacher - Specialising in Biology, Chemistry or Physics
  • The school wish to appoint a Science teacher in preparation for the schools return from the Christmas Holidays (January 2019)
  • Pay in line with MPS and UPS Scale - £23,720 - £39,406 per annum
  • Temporary contract until the end of the academic year

** It is preferable if you can teach another area of Science as well as your specialist subject but is by no means essential. **

The Deputy Head who is in charge of recruitment at our client Secondary school wishes to meet and appoint for this temporary science teaching position prior to the school breaking up for the schools Christmas Holiday period.

The school are looking to fill a planned gap within the schools Science teaching faculty until the end of the Academic year, whilst this is just a temporary contract in the first instance their will be the opportunity to earn a permanent contract if successful over this temporary period.

The school have highlighted that the incoming Science teacher must be able to deliver carefully planned Science lessons to classes of different ability sets in order to cater for a range of students all working towards different target grades. The school believe that pupils respond well to practical lessons within Science and have placed an emphasis on appointing a teacher who is comfortable teaching interactive and captivating lessons in order to help students achieve their target grade.

  • Is located on the boarder of Leigh town centre and is just minutes away from the A579
  • Can be easily accessed from Wigan and Bolton via public transport
  • The school has onsite staff car parking for teachers and staff at school
