On behalf of our partner School based in Bognor Regis we are seeking an experienced Teacher of Science to join their thriving department for January '20. As a Teacher of Science at the School the successful Candidate would be responsible for general Science teaching at KS3 and 4, and work within a supportive department of specialist practitioners. As a teacher within the Schools Science department you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons to mixed ability Students, and to contribute to the departments strong record of results as well as its journey to 'Outstanding'. As a Science specialist at the School you should be able to teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics to KS3, with the ability to teach at least one specialism to KS4 and/or 5.
The department is lead by its established and highly skilled Head of Department, supported by key stage leaders, and the Senior Leadership Team. The School runs a faculty system and STEM subjects are lead by a Director of faculty. The School is a large, mixed Secondary School with a vibrant 11-18 cohort. The School site enjoys state-of-the-art facilities, with fully equipped Science labs and a wealth of resources. As well as all of this the School enjoys excellent transport links, making it an enjoyable and rewarding place to work. The Schools most recent Ofsted inspection found them to be 'Good', and the School itself is part of an academy trust who focus on the sharing of best practice and colleagality among their sites.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of the future success of the department and the school more widely, and as a result will enjoy industry leading CPD and opportunities to upskill. You must align yourself to the School ethos focusing of Student and Staff wellbeing, and Student attainment. The successful Candidate must:
- Be educated to at least Degree level, with Qualified Teacher Status or comparative Overseas Teacher Training
- Have recent experience of UK curriculum and relevant exam boards
- Be an inspiring educator, passionate about maths teaching, with the ability to enthuse others
- Have proof of right to work in the UK, a UK/EU Passport or valid Biometric Residence Permit

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
