Science Teacher – Prestwich

The Head Teacher of a smaller than average secondary school in Prestwich is currently in the process of recruiting for a full-time Science teacher to join their staffing team from January 2020. This position is an open vacancy and a permanent position will be offered to the successful Science teacher following an initial temporary period as discussed at interview, with the role starting off on a fixed term contract until the end of the academic year.

“The successful candidate will have access to state of the art classrooms, laboratories and will join a team of seven dedicated Science teachers and two experienced Science Technicians. This position will incorporate teaching all areas of Science – Biology, Chemistry and Physics across Key Stage Three and within the Science Teacher’s specialism to GCSE level. Applications are being accepted from experienced and Newly Qualified Science Teachers (NQTs) and the interview process will commence before the Christmas break.” Head of Science.

  • Full-time Science Teacher required from January 2020
  • Fixed term contract until the end of the academic year
  • Teaching KS3/4 Science across all ability levels
  • Opportunity to secure a permanent role within the school
  • Pay in line with teaching scale point (GBP24,373 - GBP40,490 per annum)
  • Large mainstream secondary school located in Prestwich

This mainstream secondary school is located in the Prestwich area of North Manchester and is a smaller than average mixed comprehensive secondary school that is focused on strong teaching and learning throughout the school. The school has good facilities throughout due to a recent refurbishment, and the Science department has a proven track record of inspiring the next generation of scientists through well planned and resourced lessons that are highly engaging.
