Science Teacher Wigan

Science teacher required for a key client school of Teaching Personnel based in Wigan.

Our client school wish to appoint a Science teacher in January 2020 to cover a planned gap within the schools Science department. The school have outlined that they will look to employ the successful candidate until the end of the academic year, innitially on a temporary contract.

  • Science Teaching position - Teaching science to students aged 11-16 up to GCSE level
  • Must hold QTS - Specialising in either Biology, Chemistry or Physics
  • Pay for this role will fall in line with MPS/UPS scale (£24,373 - £40,490)
  • Teachers of all experience levels will be considered and support will be provided

The Assistant Headteacher who is responsible for recruitment at the school is looking to meet with candidates as a matter of urgency

The successful Science teacher will be joining the schools Science department that is made up of experienced teachers who all strive for 'Outstanding' teaching practice, with this in mind you must show that you are eager to learn and push the boundaries of teaching and learning within your lessons. You must be able to deliver lessons in your specialist subject in an engaging manor in order to raise attainment amongst your students. You will be responsible for teaching students that range in ability and must be able to push the boundaries of student development no matter what their ability and background.

Our client school is smaller than the average Secondary school in the area but due to a recent expansion the school has grew in size and is now average in comparison with the national average. The school holds a strong Christian ethos, although it isn't essential for you to be of the Christian faith you must respect the values of the school. The school is based in Leigh and is just a short drive from the East Lancashire Road making it easily commutable via car and can be easily accessed from public transport due to good transport links in and around the area.
